Red Hat是全球最大的开放源代码技术厂家，其产品Red Hat Linux也是全世界应用最广泛的Linux。Red Hat公司总部位于美国北加利福尼亚。在全球拥有22个分部。

Red Hat官方将RHCELinux考试分为两个级别：标准级和专家级。其中标准级是针对大多数没有Linux系统管理经验的考生设定的，标准级分成三门课程：

RH033（Red Hat Linux入门知识）针对没有Linux使用经验的考生开设。

RH133（Red HatLinux管理员入门）针对有基本命令行使用经验的考生开设。

RH253（Red HatLinux网路管理与安全管理入门）针对通过了RH133考试、还想继续掌握关键的网路服务设定及网路安全管理的考生设定。

能够高效率的使用及自订Red HatLinux系统。

执行常见的Linux指令行与各种Linux桌面管理工作。

执行标准的Linux系统管理任务。

为现有的网路环境，装设、配置一台新的有Red Hat Linux工作站。

设定Red Hat Linux伺服器。

配置及设定一般Red Hat Linux网路安全性的服务。
